Sapa weather stays cool year-round at about 1,500–1,650 m: summer days often 18–25°C, winter nights can sit near 0–10°C, and Fansipan is colder. Best months for most travellers: September–November (golden rice, less afternoon rain than summer) and March–April (blossom, mist). December–February is the coldest; May–August brings green valleys and typical late-day storms.
From Binh Minh Sapa Hotel at 02 Pham Xuan Huan, Sa Pa town, Lao Cai, leave bags at reception, layer up, walk to the stone church, and come back for heat, Sky View (06:00–23:00) or the restaurant (11:00–22:00) when the cloud drops.
